Strabens Hall, the award-winning independent wealth advisory boutique, with offices in London and Hong Kong, earlier this year embarked on a comprehensive review of their Investment Advisory Service (IAS), which launched in 2013. The IAS provides a multi-asset portfolio service which is highly diversified and is managed to specific risk guidelines.
Having conducted an extensive review of potential investment partners, PAM was selected to power a range of diversified portfolio solutions, managed on platform.
PAM invests across the asset management spectrum utilising active, passive and smart beta strategies. Portfolios are constructed using two complementary approaches, built to work together. An ‘efficient’ allocation to an asset mix that meets the client risk profile is achieved through low cost, passive funds. This part of the portfolio works in tandem with a forward looking, actively managed ‘dynamic’ strategy which harnesses the benefits and efficiencies of a multi-asset fund.
Alistair Peel, Executive Director at Strabens Hall, commented:
“Having headed the firm’s investment business since 2013 and after seeing an extensive number of managers, I am very excited about the progression of our service and the appointment of PAM. PAM are a high calibre team with a strong track record and a sensible, pragmatic approach to managing portfolios. They are also a great cultural fit, which, as an investment boutique with ambitious plans, has been an important aspect of the selection process. I believe that our investment proposition can add significant value to many clients. We are pleased to be able to put forward a highly credible, modern proposition that stands toe to toe with those offered by well-established names in the wealth management industry.”
Ben Sears, Head of UK Strategy at PAM, said:
“We are delighted to have been selected by Strabens Hall. They are a highly experienced team with a deep understanding of investment management. In crafting the Strabens Hall Portfolios, we have provided their clients access to efficient, highly diversified investment portfolios which harness the benefits of modern multi-asset investing. We believe the ultimate alpha lies in advice – as modern asset managers we must provide not just products, but solutions. If our ‘in-sourced’ solutions can help bridge the gap between advice and investment this should lead to more predictable, and ultimately better outcomes for clients.”
